Felt is a similar die job to a gasket, but its use is different: it is cut for jobs like oiling, insulation and vibration. The density, thickness of the felt and a hardened edge directly decide the result.

Where this die fits

A felt cutting die is prepared with similar logic to a gasket cutting die, but the material is felt and the use is different. Oil felt, insulation washers, vibration and sound-damping pads, sealing spacers and filter/decorative felt are made with this die.

The outer shape, inner hole and edge cleanliness can be checked one by one from a drawing, sample or measured photo.

1Which felts can be cut?

Wool felt, synthetic felt and adhesive felt can be cut. The edge is selected according to the thickness and density of the felt.

2How is it different from a gasket die?

The job looks similar but felt behaves differently from rubber: its fibrous structure compresses and can fray when cut. So the edge and base are planned separately for felt.

3Can adhesive felt be cut?

Yes. With adhesive (3M) felt, liner peel and adhesive squeeze-out are checked before production.
