Invitation, pocket invitation and custom-cut business card dies
Invitation cutting dies:
pocket invitations and custom forms
On an invitation, the die cuts the outer form, the pocket and flap creasing, the custom edge and the corner radius in a single plan. Pocket invitations, gatefold cards and custom-cut business cards are prepared with the same steel-rule logic.
Where this die fits
It is used for wedding, engagement, opening and event invitations; pocket invitations, gatefold and folded forms; and jobs with a custom edge and corner radius. Custom-cut and rounded-corner business cards are prepared with the same logic. On the printing die manufacturing side, it is planned for the custom-cut work of printers and promotional suppliers.
Outer shape, the pocket fold line, the flap and the corner radius can each be checked from a drawing, sample or measured photo.
- Pocket invitation form
- Gatefold and folded invitation
- Custom edge and corner radius
- Custom-cut and rounded-corner business cards
What we check before production
On an invitation, the outer form, pocket crease and corner radius are linked. Paper weight directly affects folding behavior, so they are all read together.
- Outer form and corner radius
- Pocket and flap crease allowance
- Paper weight (coated/bristol) and folding
- Form and crease aligned in a single die
Quote information
Invitation type and paper weight are the main quote inputs. If no technical drawing exists, a measured drawing can be made from a good sample.
- Sample or measured drawing
- Paper type and weight
- Invitation type (pocket/folded/flat) and card form
- Quantity and sheet/number-up
Common questions
1Do you make pocket invitation dies?
Yes. On a pocket invitation the outer form, pocket fold crease and flap are planned in a single die; the crease allowance is set according to the paper weight.
2Can you make custom-cut or rounded-corner business card dies?
Yes. A standard business card is guillotine-cut; when a rounded corner or custom form is needed, the steel-rule die cuts the form and corner in one pass.
3Do you also do laser lace cutting for invitations?
Our work is steel-rule cutting dies: outer form, pocket, corner and creasing. Fine lace or engraved-pattern laser cutting is a separate process and is outside our die scope.
