Jigsaw and custom form cutting
Puzzle cutting dies: clean interlock and measured piece cutting
Puzzle cutting dies do more than cut an outside shape. In board, carton and promotional jigsaw work, the rule path decides how each piece separates, fits and feels in the hand.
Where are puzzle dies used?
Puzzle dies are used for greyboard jigsaws, carton puzzles, promotional pieces, activity cards and custom interlocking parts. The goal is a clean cut with pieces that separate without tearing and fit back without forcing.
- Greyboard and carton jigsaw puzzles
- Promotional puzzle and game pieces
- Custom interlocking forms and samples
- Print registration and waste allowance checks
What we check before production
Small errors are easy to feel on a puzzle piece. We check tabs, gaps, inner corner radius and the outer boundary before the die goes into production.
- Piece gap and interlock comfort
- Inner corner radius and rule bending limits
- Board or carton thickness
- Print position and die centering
What to send for a quote
A production file is ideal, but a measured sample or old puzzle form is also enough to start. More context means a clearer price and lead time.
- Finished size and piece count
- Board, carton or laminated surface details
- PDF, AI, DXF file or sample
- Printed/unprinted production and quantity
Short questions
Q·01How many pieces can a puzzle die have?
It depends on finished size, piece size and material thickness. Small pieces need extra checks for fit and rule bends.
Q·02What materials can puzzle cutting dies cut?
They are commonly used on greyboard, carton and laminated printed surfaces. A sample helps confirm how the material behaves.
Q·03Can you make a puzzle die from a sample?
Yes. We can read the form from a measured sample or old die sample and prepare a production-ready drawing.
